Weaver Nest
PHOWN, Photographs of Weaver Nests, is a project established by the South African Animal Demography Unit to identify and record active weaver colonies. Weavers are a diverse family of birds, with many species occuring in Africa. Weavers can be monitored by recording breeding and survival rates.

The Mogalakwena Research Centre enlisted in this project in September 2010. Photographs of weaver nests, along with information about each weaver colony, are submitted to the PHOWN Virtual Museum when the nests become active in the breeding season (September to March).
